How to scan a QR code on a PC
When a QR code is already on your computer screen, reaching for your phone should not be necessary. QR Focus lets Windows read it directly with one shortcut.
Install QR Focus, place your cursor over the QR code, and press Ctrl + Shift + Q. The decoded link or text is copied to your clipboard.
Why QR codes on a PC are awkward
Most QR scanners expect a camera. That works when a code is printed, but it is clumsy when the code is inside a browser, PDF, game, video, or desktop app. Taking a screenshot and uploading it to a website adds extra steps and may expose information from your screen.
Scan a QR code on Windows in three steps

Download and run QR Focus
The app works on 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. It stays ready in the system tray.

Hover the QR code
Move your normal mouse pointer over the code. If several QR codes are visible, this tells QR Focus which one you mean.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Q
A blue glow moves in from the edge of the screen and focuses on the code. The result is copied automatically.
Does it send screenshots to a server?
No. QR recognition runs locally on your computer. You do not need to upload a screenshot, create an account, or send your screen to QR Focus.
What if there are multiple QR codes?
Keep the cursor over the code you want before pressing the shortcut. QR Focus chooses the visible QR code under or nearest to the cursor; if only one code is visible, it selects that code automatically.
